SEPTEMBER
The Janeceks dove at CASINO POINT on Catalina Island recently. They used their new Sea Life camera to record the event and report that the dive shop trailer at the point has been expanded and is now open every day during the summer. They had good visibility at 30+ feet, but the water was somewhat turbid.
CATALINA ISLAND is still a possibility for a club outing this fall. We had some good interest shown at the last club meeting. We're lookingatOctober sometime after the first weekend(tentatively Oct. 21). Come to the meeting tand let's firm up the date!
Marty, Mike, and Rock went to MOSS COVE recently and had an enjoyable dive even though Mike lost his compass. He said it just popped out of the console. They found lobster, halibut, octopus, and saw a four foot wing span bat ray!
At the last meeting Mike revealed plans to join a group diving THE YUKON on August 12th. Arrangements were made through WILEY'S SCUBA LOCKER in Riverside. We'll be waiting for a report on that one at the next meeting.
Is anyone interested in joining Mike at LA BUFADORA around Thanksgiving? Give him a call, or e-mail me.
Is your calendar circled for the latter part of JUNE 2001 for our trip to BELIZE? We're still checking into the costs. Let Karen or Mike know if you are interested. We have 7 or 8 definite travelers so far.
Mike is still looking for interested divers for the LAKE MEAD/HOOVER DAM?RINGBOLT RAPIDS dive.
