Desert Moray Dive Club |
 MAY
Our May meeting will be held at the Ashman residence in Hemet. We will have our next meeting on Thursday, May 13th, at 7:00 p.m. If anyone needs directions to thier house you can contact me at: [email protected].
The Lake Perris underwater clean-up dive was held on April 3rd, and a few of the DESERT MORAYS participated. With the weather chilly and the water dark ,many divers went searching for the various treasures (and lots of trash) held within. There were lots of prizes given out, some of them quite nice. A MARES T-120 regulator was awarded to a lucky participant compliments of BACKYARD SCUBA in Temecula. Many other Inland Empire businesses sponsored the event also, giving away dive trips, dive equipment, dinners, and various other prizes. Special thanks to WILEY'S SCUBA LOCKER for taking time to organize this event, along with the Riverside County Sheriff's Dive Team.
The 1999 SCUBA SHOW is coming up in June aboard the QUEEN MARY, and the Wonderful folks from CALIFORNIA DIVING NEWS have given our club two tickets for free admission to the show. Anyone have good ideas for a raffle or an "honest and Fair" way to distribute these? Please let me know.
All of the spaces on the whitewater rafting adventure have been filled. Those planning on riding the rapids must get the remainder of the fee to Mike Percival by the end of May. This adventure will take place during the July 4th weekend. Our group will be camping out that weekend near Lake Isabella and will travel down the Kern River.
