HAPPY NEW GEAR!

Our December club meeting was held at the Ashman residence. Karen had a lovely dessert buffet table prepared for attending members. The goodies everyone brought were delicious. Our next club meeting will be held at the Ashman residence again. If you need directions to their home, please e-mail me here. The next club meeting will be held on Thursday,January 14th, 1999 at 7:00 P.M.

At our last meeting we discussed a whitewater rafting/camping/diving adventure which would take place sometime in June after school recess. The cost for the whitewater rafting will be $65.00 per rafter. There will be a camping fee of $12.00. We will be camping near Lake Isabella. There is an underwater city � at the bottom of Lake Isabella which should should make for an interesting and unique dive. For those wanting to participate in the rafting, a $20.00 deposit is required to hold your place. Mike Percival will be collecting this deposit from members� at the January meeting in order to reserve our spot and make the necessary arrangements for our summer adventure. We are fortunate to have Mike as our event coordinator. Thank you Mike for all your hard work and all the research you do for this club.

We will be having our 1999 appointment/election of our new officers at our next meeting. Some of us will be stepping down and we will need new officers to fill those vacated positions. We will also be discussing the annual membership dues required to join the DESERT MORAYS. Last year, the membership fees were:

Family:$25.00

Individual:$15.00

A family membership included two free patches, while a single membership included one free patch.Your input for the direction of the DESERT MORAYS is needed; please try to attend this meeting. Our dues are reasonable in comparison to the other clubs, so please plan on attending the next meeting - it is an important one.
