PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED AMIDST SCANDALS AND CORRUPTION!
Our January club meeting was held at the Ashman residence. Elections were held, with not many changes taking place. Our 1999 officials are as follows:
President: Rock Janecek
Vice President: Marty Sylvester
Treasurer: Jenny Janecek
Dive Coordinator: Mike Percival
Editor: Rock Janecek
The club members also voted for the 1999 dues to be lowered to $10.00 per person, or $15.00 per family.Club patches are not included, they are available for $4.00 each. If you wish to pay your dues by check, make the check payable to: Rock Janecek.

At our last meeting we accepted deposits for the whitewater rafting/camping/diving adventure which would take place sometime in June after school ends. The cost for the whitewater rafting will be approximately $65.00 per rafter. There will be a camping fee of $12.00. We will be camping near Lake Isabella. For those wanting to participate in the rafting, a $20.00 deposit is required to hold your place. Mike Percival will be collecting this deposit from members at the February meeting in order to reserve your spot and make the necessary arrangements for our summer adventure.
On Saturday, January 16th 1999, Mike Percival and Rock and Jenny Janecek dove Fisherman's Cove (a.k.a. Boat Canyon) in Laguna Beach. We had a good dive with fair conditions and mild surge. Visibility was about ten to fifteen feet and depth was never greater than forty feet. Our Super Bowl Sunday dive was cancelled due to weather conditions.
